There are several options for treating ostoearthritis. They can be used either on their own or in combination. The aim of treatment is twofold. For one, the joint mechanism has to be optimised so that it functions smoothly, is mobile and has sufficient muscle power. For another, cartilage metabolism and cartilage biology have to be optimised with the aid of modern drugs.
